Cruise work

What is it?

The Seamen’s Mission reaches out to the hundreds of cruise ships—with thousands of crew members on board—that visit Danish and Greenlandic ports, such as Aarhus. Many of these seafarers work long hours every day for months at a time, far away from their families. We invite them in, for example to Aarhus Seamens Clubwhere they can enjoy a well-deserved break—relax, call home using free Wi-Fi, have a good conversation, play basketball, and more.

These are people from many different backgrounds, but each one is loved by God. We want them to feel seen and welcomed.

It is driven by employees and volunteer forcesso if you know someone or would like to lend a hand yourself, please contact us.

Are you on board a cruise ship?

Are you on board a cruise ship heading to Danish or Greenlandic ports? The Seamen’s Mission would love to meet you. We have time, warm hearts, and a pot of hot coffee ready. Our services vary from port to port and may include anything from inviting you into our Seamen’s cafés or hotels to offering free Wi-Fi and coffee. We’re happy to hang out and chat about anything big or small. We also enjoy visiting crews on board—and we always bring coffee and magazines.
