Life at sea

It can be challenging for ship management to recognise mental health issues in crew members and remember to pass on observations to the next person on the bridge when it's shift change day. However, it is the responsibility of the management and they will continuously encounter crew members on the ship in many different moods.

Far away from home

Seen from the bridge at Pajuttaat, the view is impeccable. Here in beautiful West Greenland, Jørgen Kjær Jensen knows every small settlement in Disko Bay like the back of his hand, but also the slightly larger towns such as Ilulissat, Qeqertarsuaq, Qasigiannguit and Aasiaat, and just north of Disko Bay: Uummannaq.

"They were sceptical, but the shipping company was not. All I had to do was confirm when I expected to be back. 

For reflection

Addiction can be devastatingly life-destroying. Marriages have been destroyed, jobs lost and tragic accidents have happened because of people's addictions. Alcohol and drugs; once they take hold in your body as something you shell garden, it can be incredibly difficult to be set free again.
