"They were sceptical, but the shipping company was not. All I had to do was confirm when I expected to be back. The company emphasised that I needed to feel ready to work again, so I might have to wait until the baby was born to give a final date."

Safe sailing without pirates

Jonas Muff Kofoed is at home in Odense, but soon he will be travelling to work again. He is chief engineer on the container ship SAN RAPHAEL MÆRSK, which sails a regular route between Europe and South America. When he sailed tankers, he only knew the place and date of embarkation shortly beforehand because the ship was not in regular service. Fortunately, that's not the case this year.

Bibles are cargo on board Saturn

The first rescue operation shakes and equips

It was an ordinary 15 December 2020 on board the SOV vessel ESVAGT NJORD, which services offshore wind farms on a daily basis. On board, Frederik Oksholm was on watch from 5am until lunch at 11am. At around 11.30am, he heard a huge bang while he was vacuuming in the reception area. He thought it was something at the hatch. It wasn't.
