Knit for a sailor
SÅDAN GØR DU:
- You knit socks, hat, neck warmer, etc.
- Send it or hand it over to someone from the Seafarers' Mission
- We wrap it up nicely.
- Seafarer missionaries and other employees deliver the parcels to sailors in Greenland and Denmark.
- You help spread Christmas cheer on board.
Gør en forskel
Your knitwear can become Christmas gifts for sailors at work on Christmas Eve.
The gifts are distributed by seafarer missionaries at harbours in Greenland and Denmark and make a difference!
A sailor tells us:
"The sailors who didn't have family may not have received any other gifts, and in these cases the Christmas gift really came into its own."
"Those of us who received parcels from family also felt better when everyone in the fair sat with parcels in front of them. It wasn't just the young boys who missed their families. I've also seen old tattooed sailors who were a bit tongue-tied on Christmas Eve."
"It's impressive with gifts for unknown sailors". That's how succinctly a former sailor can put it.
